- A WORTHY SON OF EBIRALAND AND AN AMBASSADOR OF CHANGE
It has indeed become imperative for somebody to publicly and glaringly acknowledge the good works and virtues of this young, dynamic and unassuming gentleman who has speedily and steadfastly changed the tide of fortune of most people in our land.
Mallam Ismaila Okaku is a businessman from Okene in Okene L.G.A. who is presently resident in Abuja. He is a detribalized and non-violent man who has through various means and personal efforts make a desirable change and visible in the land of his fore-fathers.
Though a quiet and an embodiment of good naturedness, he has not at any point delved into the murky waters of our politics. This act is worthy of commendation as the art of governance presently called politics in the land does not suit his purpose of life. Take an example, where ‘Okaku’ has distributed vehicles to over twenty persons without a show of it, he has equally reduced unemployment by empowering youths and market women by setting them up on various businesses. Through this act, these people are legitimately and confidently earning their livelihood without fear of intimidation.
My candid advice to this man who has a kind heart to help his neighbours is that:
- He should continue to do the good works which God almighty has placed in your magnanimous heart. God people are both appreciated by God and men alike. Your good works have genuinely endeared you to the hearts of many. You are a worthy son of your father land. May God bless you more abundantly.
- Do not at anytime consider coming into politics for any reason. The nature of our politics does not allow truthful and straight-forward persons to function as they desire. We have chosen to clothe our political participation with clannish and religious colourations.
Generally, in politics, you cannot satisfy everybody at the same time. If you are in politics, time will come when you will do more than you are capable of doing now and you will not be appreciated. You are either branded as being politically, religiously or clannishly biased. Every good intentions and actions in our politics are usually interpreted negatively.
In conclusion, on behalf of the good people of Ebiraland, congratulations for being there at all time for the needy, the down trodden, the orphans, the widows and our jobless youths. More powers to your elbows.
Continue the work you have chosen to carry out in the total transformation of our dear fatherland by joining hand with other men of good intentions. Remember that politics is just one of the various aspects of our lives. It is therefore a means to an end and not an end in itself, other avenues is as equally important.
God is your strength and guide.
CARRY ON – OKAKU.

Bravo!
This evening, I was temporarily transfixed on my laptop, when I read this article written by A. A. IDRIS about an industrious son, named ISMAILA OKAKU who has contributed in his own way to assist the others. It is important to appreciate those who are ready to assist, change and influence our destiny into positive rain-bow colors. The silent sacrifice he did from his heart unannounced has been heralded to the world through your generous pen, perhaps to express your perception and cognition belief of the importance of help without waiting for something in returns. That was your major port of concern as the article has directly suggested. However, your candid efforts to shower praises and eulogies his generous heart is a welcoming idea for many to understand the concept of selfless given without any rope attached.
The only area we might share different views, spring from the advice given to him not involve himself in politics. Then, what reason do we have to complain that selfish and greedy people are controlling our lives if we prevented good candidate from taking part? Yes, politics is a dirty game and full of gimmicks, that is why we are praying to God to send us good people to take over the leadership control of our society but now you are advising a good candidate not to take part our politics because of his good nature. He is non violence man and his services are desirable but now we are facing double dilemmas, we want our destiny to be in good hands but we don’t want good people to join politics.
In my mind, such people are the best to effect some changes in our lives, if the society does not corrupt his free mind. Sure, we need people like him to set the game straight, and purify the muck dirty water of politics. A tree does not make a forest, yes I know, but someone has to start the seed planting of honesty to change our political climate that has neglected us. Your advice might as well affect our destiny if this generous son of ours heed to it and turn his back to our politics that needs people like him to rescue. Our long political struggles must have informed your experience having been a witness to their political games and the clannish sentiments but if we fail to us good candidate that can effect the kind of changes we seek for in our society, we have nobody to blame but ourselves.
My perception is that we have neglected to appreciate those politicians who have sincerely served their fatherland. This is not a hidden fact, if we consider our EX-GOVERNOR of kwara state ALHAJI ADAMU ATTA who has sincerely stocked to our cause. How many politicians as well as the ordinary people remember to honor EX-GOVRNOR ALHAJI ADAMU ATTA in his present sad condition? To my knowledge, he is one of those that have served their fatherland with all his heart crossing clannish boundaries and religions to reach out for all the Ebiras.
Now, he has been let down and neglected by all the Ebiras, you and I. We are all guilty of his unsung achievements. Although, he is still alive BUT WE HAVE BURIED HIS MEMORY INSIDE OUR LIVING MEMORY as we are struggling daily never to honor his meritorious service to his fatherland. It appears that we are all guilty of the same crime right from the illiterate market women to our politicians. They have neglected him as they neglected themselves in their political struggles and the society that could not protect him was equally in exclusive.
EX-GOVERNOR ALHAJI ADAMU ATTA has done a lot to influence our society. He has made many household culpable to their richness and success. He has for so long been neglected to waste, and wither away in his pitiable situation from our heart without any serious measure to liberate him from his present condition. He has helped our society and many to survive well enough but rejected by everyone as he now needs our help. He is a generous man who truly loves his people and fought on their behalf. It’s better to honor him while he is alive than to honor his departure. A school or hospital should be named after him. He should be equally be given a title of “ADEYIZA OF EBIRA”. Each local government chairman should find a way to put his name on their payrolls since the state government might find it difficult to do that. Let us give tribute to those that deserve them.
And the point of this open letter is………………………………………………????
He is a good guy as you have tried to paint him.
So why advice him through an open forum?
Do you intend to use his good work as a selling point for politics? Testing Waters?
Guy give the Mallam a better service.
And this selling points could easily be thwarted as some other persons credentials will make his look like a dwarf( No name droppings).
Package him better please.
When the wise and good men refuse to make laws, then the foolish ones takes center stage.
If he is as good as you say, get him make out his working plan and how well he will administer responsibilities and ensure that when he gets the mandate, we all will be proud of him as discharge his duty in what ever capacity.
Just a honest advice.
